14 Sept - Robin Hoods Bay to Blairgowrie

Left The Villa by taxis to Middlesbough with Dave, Ang, Crow & Cherry. Ronnie & Di had left earlier in cab to Scarborough to continue holiday around canals near Bath with Jill and Mike. Dropped other 4 off at railway station where they caught train to Edinburgh before their flights home tomorrow. We collected hire car and headed to Blairgowrie via Edinburgh. Called into Apple shop in Edinburgh but store was too busy to look at the iPad problem immediately so look around and a coffee then onto Blairgowrie.
It was very relaxing putting our feet up at Meglin Cottage (Dad and Maggie's cottage).

Dropped the Youngs and Burges's off at the railway station for a train to Edinburgh then collected our car for our drive to Blairgowrie for our 2 nights of R&R.

Since we were here three weeks ago most wheat & barley crops have been harvested.

13 Sept - Littlebeck to Robin Hoods Bay

We left Intake Farm this morning in the sunshine for our final destination of Robin Hoods Bay. We walked through Little Beck Wood, a charming 65 acres of woodland filled with oak trees, bird life and were told to look out for badgers and deer which we saw none. We walked to Falling Foss where there was a beautiful 20 meter high waterfall alongside the former ruins of Midge Hall, now converted into a tea garden but was sadly closed. We left the woods and walked across the muddy moors once again before we sighted the North Sea in the distance seeing Whitby Abbey on the horizon. Finally saw the 1st sign post that read Robin Hoods Bay 3.5 miles. We were very excited but still  had a couple of hours of walking. Stopped for a pint for the boys (mid 70 number drunk of different pints of English bitters) and a Becks for the girls in Hawkster at The Hare and Hound pub. We continued on through a huge holiday caravan park to the coast line and followed this beautiful walk way south of Whitby towards Robin Hoods Bay. We reached the coast about 5 Kms north of Robin Hoods Bay and followed it down to our final destination. We then carried the traditional throwing of our stones (collected from the Irish Sea) into the North Sea then the obligatory photographs under the plaque designating the end of the C2C. Celebratory drinks with Veuve Clicquot etc and a final dinner at Fylingdales Pub with a closing address from Michael. Thank goodness we had Michael to show us the way. He did an amazing job as navigator/leader throughout the trip along with Crow, Dave and Ronnie. We girls took their word for it and followed directions. We all had mixed feelings of excitement, happiness and sadness to have finished what was in the planning stage for 18 months. We did it!!! Yay. We stayed at The Villa B&B.
Photos will be added a couple of days after we return home on Thursday once I have visited Apple to unclog my iPad.

Ready to leave Intake Farm for our 18.3km walk.

The Falling Foss waterfall. Sadly the tea gardens were closed near by.

They decided to walk with us!

Oops Cherry going down crossing a very muddy area.

The day is clearing and getting warmer. The North Sea and Whitby in the background.

The first sign to Robin Hoods Bay we saw. Very excited walkers!

Stopped at the Hare and Hound for refreshments in Hawkster about 4kms of walking left.

Walked through this huge caravan park to get to the coast.

Hugging the coast line getting closer to our destination.

We have arrived.

We did it!

Then Veuve Clicquot to celebrate before finding our final B&B at The Villa.

Presentation to Michael for his excellent organisation of our fabulous holiday.

Night caps all round before our 20 minute walk back into Robin Hoods Bay.
We all had mixed feelings of excitement, sadness of finishing and wonderment of us completing a fabulous walk.
