Up and out of our great accommodation in Richmond at Arandale Guest House with Paul the proprietor in search for a chemist to replenish a few blister supplies. Got a takeaway coffee from The Station, an old railway station converted into an area of film, food and art with a restaurant, theatres and exhibitions under an amazing roof.
We headed out towards the woods where we sighted several grey squirrels. Amazed how little wild life we have encouted so far on our walk.
Due to a diversion from road works on the M6 we had to change our route and not follow the walking path, resulting in a stroll along a major road for couple of km! This route change however, did not stop the boys from seeing the Catterick race course and to have our lunch in a Catterick pub.
It was a long arduous walk during the afternoon through crop and pasture areas of the Yorkshire Dales.
We reached Danby Wiske tired and ready for a visit to the pub at 1615. We had an early dinner at 1830, followed by a night cap and early night. We stayed at Ashfield House and Crow and Cherry in School House.
