EVORA - PORTO

I drove and Michael navigated to Porto via Coimbra where we had a coffee at Santa Cruz cafe. €1.50 ea ($2 ea) in the town square. This building was first opened in 1923 and it is considered a National Monument. The domed ceiling and stained glass windows are worth stopping there to see.
We drove for 4 hours and were passed with me doing 130Km/hr!!! We returned the car in Porto unscathed with a near miss of an accident 2Km from the rental place! I was so relaxed in the rear of the taxi to our hotel. Settled in then had a few beers at a neighbouring bar overlooking the Douro River. €1.50 the same cost as a coffee. Recommended the Wine Quay bar by concierge and enjoyed a couple of wines.
Walked around the narrow, hilly streets before having dinner at Jimao restaurant for great tapas and wine. Octopus, melon with chorizo, mushrooms, and chorizo slices.
We are staying for 3 nights at Pestana Vintage Porto Hotel overlooking the Douro River.
