Katherine caught the train to London. She had been with Crow and Cherry in Edinburgh.
Started our walk after a coffee, collecting a stone and dipping our boots in the Irish Sea up around the cliff past the lighthouse. Passed through many pastures, up and down dale through many "love gates", over styles for 16 Kms. A lunch stop then walked through the Wainwright Passage.
Arrived Cleator about 1500 after 4.5 hours of walking and found Ennerdale Country House and enjoyed well earned drinks in the Estate gardens. The interior and some of the bedrooms were a little tired?! We were very happy having a night here as many walkers do the 25km on the 1st day to Ennerdale Bridge and we are doing it over 2 days.
Outside our B&B.
Having dipped our feet into the Irish Sea and collecting a stone to carry and drop into the North Sea.
Ready to start our walk over looking Felswick Bay.
Cherry looking back over to St Bees.
Taking a short break.
St Bees Lighthouse. No scones and jam there as hinted?!
Lunch break and a good stretch at Moor Row.
The hill we need to climb tomorrow.
About to enter Wainwright Passage.
Ennerdale Country House.
Good to get those boots off!
