leg of the C2C walk this year. We arrived safely and went immediately to the White Lion for a few pints etc then onto our accommodation for the night - Oldwater View Inn with Joyce a 78 year old looking after us. She was a hoot of a woman. We relaxed in the beer garden then later had a delicious meal.
There is so much water around and it is summer time.
Leaving Grasmere and heading up this mountain!
Very narrow pathways.
Re-checking our route.
Bon near the water fall. Poor visibility up the mountain.
Watch your footing folks.
Lunch break.
About half way.
Quite a busy day with other walkers overtaking us!
Lake Grisedale Tarn between Fairfield and Dollywagon Pike.
On we continue - there are lots of water crossings like this.
These guys were very adventurous.
Ruthwaite Lodge - was restored in 1993 in memory of Richard Read and Mike Evans who were tutors from OBU killed on Mount Cook in NZ in 1988.
A roughfel sheep.
Nearly into Patterdale.
Beers all round and checking tomorrow's walk.
In the bar.
And beer garden.
View from our bedroom window. Oldwater View Inn is well named.
