Farewell to the Stefanini's. Stefano kindly took us to the train station in La Spetzia but didn't just drop us off but assisted us with purchase and validation of tickets for 12.30 train. Many thanks Steph and Stefano for your hospitality and friendship.
An interesting 1.5 hour train journey with a leaking air conditioner where water poured in at different intervals that required us all to change seats a few times!
Santa Margherita is in the province of Genoa located 35 km from Genoa in the gulf of Tigullio between Rapello and Portifino. It is an old fashioned fishing seaside resort on the Italian Rivière. It is a beautiful town with many hotels, shops and art galleries surrounding a large harbour with all sized boats. It is very hot here with temperatures in the high 30's.
We are staying in the Best Western Hotel for 3 nights on the waters edge.
